 About Knitting, Beads, & Other Things!
When I was little my mother filled our home with the wonderful scent of fresh baked goodies, (chocolate chip cookies, red velvet cake, sugar cookies.......) It always seemed
to me that if she wasn’t baking, she was knitting. Knitting Barbie clothes. Later I
remember the afghans, mittens, hats, and scarves she would knit.
Try as I would, I could not knit. I wouldn’t even know how to describe what the result
was!! But I had to find something to do while Mom knitted. So I turned to needlepoint.
Wonderful!! I instantly loved it. My passion for it still remains.
Several years ago, when my ability to concentrate waned. I needed to do something
with my hands, so thought I would try once again to knit. I picked up my mother's
needles and yarn, and shock upon shock, I could finally KNIT!!! Of course, you can't
have knitting or needlepoint without beads.
What do knitting, needlepoint, & beads have in common? Their potential is unlimited,
all you have to do is let yourself relax and let the yarn/thread/fiber/canvas take you
where they will.
I love searching for anything related to needlepoint, knitting, & beads. For needlepoint,
I look for anything. For knitting, I am always looking for what’s new. However, I am
always on the hunt for yarns in light and/or bright colors; & yarn that light to medium
weight. The bead search was always for affordable Swarovski, “solid” gold, & sterling
silver. In other words things that when I look at them make me smile.
Add to this mix a very creative friend. She unleashes her creativity with paper crafts.
Hence, Other Things.
Knitting, Beads, & Other Things has grown from these passions. Here you will find
the result of our passions and our creativity. We will strive to bring you a constant
influx of new products and ideas.
